La revue Quaternaire créée dès 1964 par l'AFEQ sous le nom de Bulletin de l'AFEQ est devenue Quaternaire en 1990. Ce journal scientifique paraît au rythme de quatre numéros par an. La revue publie des numéros d'auteurs (par ordre d'arrivée des manuscrits après acceptation) ou des numéros thématiques sur proposition ou invitation par le comité de rédaction. Les articles (en langue française, anglaise ou allemande) traitant de tous les aspects du Quaternaire sont acceptés. La revue est publiée avec le concours du Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique.
Depuis Juin 2007 la revue est indéxée par l'ISI, l'impact factor sera connu fin 2009 et publié dans l'édition du Journal Citation Report de 2010.

Quaternaire was created in 1964 by the AFEQ as the Bulletin de l'AFEQ and its name was changed to Quaternaire in 1990. This scientific journal has four issues per year. Manuscripts are published after reviewing following order of arrival, special issues on a particular thema can be submitted by guest editors. Papers (in french, english or german) on all aspects of Quaternary research are accepted.
Since June 2007 the journal journal has been accepted for for the following Thomson ISI products: Science Citation Index-Expanded (SCIE) including the Web of Science  ISI Alerting Service. The first impact factor will be calculated after data are collected for the year 2009. This information will then be published in the 2009 edition of the "Journal Citation Reports" (JCR) which will become available in mid-2010.
